Thanksgiving Poverty Dinner

This evening we hosted a Poverty Dinner. Students learned about the global disparity in food security.

They also learned some facts about world hunger. Those seated on the floor represent the 60% of people in poverty who only got rice. Those seated on chairs are the 25% struggling to get by, but can provide for their families in rough circumstances. These few got rice and beans.

This lucky individual represents the top 15% of people who do not have to worry about their next meal. The top level got rice, beans, and chicken.
